I am a Post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Teacher Education Vaud and a part-time Lecturer in Ethics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. I do research in moral psychology, animal ethics (with an emphasis on equine ethics), care ethics and the didactics of ethics. I completed my PhD in philosophy at the University of Fribourg in June 2022. My dissertation defends an account of moral understanding as a key moral competence supported by ethical attention and emotional experiences. I teach seminars in animals ethics, equine ethics and environmental ethics. My blog www.horse-intricacies.com aims to render equine ethics accessible to a greater public. I also nourish an interest for the philosophical work of Iris Murdoch.
